Our core funding comes from the British Academy, however, your donations, membership fees and legacy gifts are integral to our mission and allow us to increase the number of grants we award to researchers across the continent.
The Haycock Memorial Fund
BIEA gratefully acknowledges the generous legacy donated by the Haycock family in memory of Bryan Haycock, and his significant contributions to Sudanese archaeology. The bequest was made to support the Institute’s general mission and to encourage research relating to the Ancient Meroitic State of Nubia. This legacy has contributed to the establishment of the Nairobi research centre at its current site and to research grant awards and activities, including those focused on Sudan.
